Our client’s primary nightly batch process ran over two hours and occasionally did not finish due to the amount of data being processed. The client expected a solution to be implemented within a short time frame.
The consultant met with various functional groups to determine how the existing information was utilized and how it would be utilized in the future. The consultant gained consensus regarding deal modeling needs and made necessary changes to accomplish the required calculations accurately without superfluous data.
The report run time was reduced from 2 hours to 25 minutes. The output eliminated over 40 columns of data and decreased the number of reports from 29 to 7. The new reports provided all the necessary data at the granularity desired. Documentation was reduced from 111 pages to 1 Excel file.
